Installation of sterilizer
The sterilizer should be placed in a special room. The room shall be connected with power (steam source), water source, drainage and ventilation facilities, and equipped with special grounding device.
Installation position of sterilizer. There should be a certain space around for installation and maintenance; there should be enough space in front of the sterilizer door to ensure convenient access of sterilized articles. Sterilizer should be placed as horizontal as possible.
The power supply shall be connected to three-phase four wire AC 380V-50Hz power supply and equipped with special distribution board. The setting out trench shall be opened between the sterilizer box and the electrical control cabinet.
The steam source of water source is connected with pressure gauge and corresponding manual valve to ensure the use safety. The diameter of the sewer pipe shall not be less than 100 mm.
The gas cylinder shall be connected with a pressure gauge. It is not known that it is close to the heat source or exposed to the sun. The storage temperature shall be less than 50 ℃.
Precautions
- 1. Ethylene oxide is inflammable and explosive, so it is very important to ensure safety. Therefore, the sterilization workshop should be equipped with fire prevention measures. In addition, no smoking, no other open fire, and keep the workshop ventilated.
- 2. Ethylene oxide is toxic to some extent. If the human body inhales too much at one time, it will have discomfort, even headache, vomiting and other toxic phenomena. In case of the above phenomenon, leave the site quickly and breathe fresh air in the open and cool place until the symptom is eliminated. For example, the human skin and eyes are exposed to ethylene oxide
- 3. The water in the water circulation system shall be replaced regularly. Replace the waste water in the waste gas treatment system regularly.
Applicable scope of gas sterilization
Ethylene oxide does not damage the sterilized articles and has strong penetration, so most articles that are not suitable for general sterilization can be sterilized and sterilized with ethylene oxide. For example, electronic instruments, optical instruments, medical devices, books, documents, fur, cotton, chemical fiber, plastic products, wood products, ceramics and metal products, endoscopes, dialyzers and disposable medical supplies. Ethylene oxide is one of the most important low temperature sterilization methods.
Advantage
Convenient transportation and storage, no need of huge gas cylinder, no need of filtering gas, more importantly, CFC free. Environmental protection and safety.Summary
At present, ethylene oxide is widely used to sterilize medical devices. . ethylene oxide is a flammable and explosive toxic gas, with the molecular formula of C2H4O, which has an aromatic ether smell. At 4 ° C, the relative density is 0.884, the boiling point is 10.8 ° C, and the density is 1.52g/cm3. At room temperature, it is easy to volatilize into a gas, which can cause explosion when the concentration is too high.
